Preposition "Over" এর ব্যবহার

Rule-1:

স্পর্শ না করে উপরে গতিশীলতা অর্থে Over  বসে।

Examples:

⇨ The fan is moving ------ his head.

Rule-2:

কোনো কিছু দিয়ে ঢেকে দেওয়া অর্থে over বসে।

Examples:

⇨ He put a rug ------ me.

⇨ She put a quilt ------ me.

Rule-3:

এক প্রান্ত থেকে অপর প্রান্তে তথ্য প্রেরণমূলক মাধ্যমের পূর্বে Over বসে।

Examples:

⇨ Raza requested Romana ------ the phone.

Rule-4:

কোনো কিছুর উপর দিয়ে এক পাশ থেকে অপর পাশ পর্যন্ত বা আড়াআাড়িভাবে থাকা বুঝাতে over বসে।

Examples:

⇨ There is a bridge ------ the river.

⇨ There is a Jamuna bridge ------ the river of Jamuna.

Rule-5:

স্পর্শ না করে কোন কিছুর উপর দিয়ে লাফ দেওয়া অর্থে over বসে।

Examples:

⇨ The man jumped ------ the wall into the garden.

⇨ The buglar jumped ------ the compound wall.

 Rule-6:

কোন স্থানের সর্বত্র বিরাজমান অর্থে over ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Examples:

⇨ All ------ the country

⇨ All ------ the world.

Rule-7:

উপর দিয়ে অতিক্রম করা বুঝাতে Over বসে।

Examples:

⇨ The plane flew ------ Dhaka.

ব্যতিক্রম কিছু নিয়মঃ

১। যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম বুঝাতে Phone, telephone, fax, email ইত্যাদি একাকী ব্যবহৃত হলে অর্থাৎ তাদের পূর্বে কোনো determiner ব্যবহৃত না হলে তার পূর্বে by বসে,  আর determiner ব্যবহৃত হলে তার পূর্বে over বসে।

⇨ We take order ------ by phone. Ans: by

⇨ Raza requested Romana ------ the phone. Ans:over
